Bellringer

Mass intention software for Catholic parishes

Stop taking Mass intentions on sticky notes and voicemail. Parishioners submit a request through a form on your parish page, and the office works a single queue.

How it works

Why a form beats a phone call

The office gets the details in writing the first time: the correct spelling of the name, whether it is for the living or the deceased, and the date the family is hoping for. Nothing is transcribed twice, and nothing is lost because the person who took the call was covering the desk that morning.

The parishioner-facing request page carries a noindex directive, so the names on it never appear in search results.

Part of the whole parish record

Mass intentions are one feature of Bellringer, which also handles parishioner and household records, email and SMS, ministries, sacrament history, giving, events, and the weekly bulletin.

The offering and the record

Each request carries the offering alongside the intention, so the queue is also the record of what was received and for what. When the requester matches an existing parishioner, the intention attaches to that record — which means the family's history is visible the next time they call, rather than living in the memory of whoever took the first request.

Requests keep their history as they are scheduled, moved, or declined, so a question about what was promised has an answer that does not depend on anyone's recollection.

Common questions

Can parishioners request a Mass intention online?

Yes. Each parish gets a public request form at its own URL that can be linked from a website or printed in the bulletin.

Do Mass intention requests show up in Google?

No. Parishioner-facing pages send a noindex directive, so the names on them are kept out of search results.
