Terms of Service

Last updated 21 August 2026

The agreement

These terms govern your use of Bellringer. By creating an account you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a parish or diocese, you confirm you are authorized to do so.

Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication.

Your data stays yours

You retain all rights to the data you put into Bellringer. We claim no ownership of it. You can export it at any time, on any plan, and we will not hold it hostage if you decide to leave. Our handling of it is described in our Privacy Policy .

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Bellringer to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk messages to people who have not agreed to hear from you.
  • Store data you have no lawful basis or permission to hold.
  • Break the law, infringe others' rights, or harass anyone.
  • Attempt to breach the service's security, or access another organization's data.

Email and SMS sent through Bellringer must comply with the messaging laws that apply to you. You are responsible for having consent to contact the people you message, and for honouring opt-outs.

Plans, billing, and trials

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually as you choose. New parishes receive a 14-day trial of Pro features; no card is required to start, and the trial simply ends if you do nothing.

The Free plan holds up to 100 parishioners. If a paid plan lapses and you are over that limit, your records are not deleted or hidden — you keep what you have and cannot add more until you upgrade or reduce below the limit.

You can cancel at any time and will keep access through the end of the period you have paid for. Fees already paid are not refundable except where required by law.

Availability

We work to keep Bellringer available and to fix faults promptly, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, faults, and outages happen.

Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms or that is being used to harm others, and will tell you why where we lawfully can. On termination you may export your data before it is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

Bellringer is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, and our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Bellringer helps you keep records. It is not a substitute for legal, financial, or canonical advice, and giving statements it produces are your responsibility to verify.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell account owners by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Bellringer after that means you accept the change.
